My first list is written in English as it's the language that I've been speaking to most of the people who taught me all this. Here's some of the stuff I learnt from them:
- Kings of Convenience, Jake Harper and Roald Dahl's 'Charlie And The Chocolate Factory' are awesome.
- Carbonara sauce should be made mostly with eggs and a little bit of cream, not the other way around.
- Napolitan is way closer to Catalan than I would have ever imagined.
- Some words and expressions in both foreign and my own language such as: Budmo! (Ukranian, should be repeated 3 times, used as "cheers"), namaste (Hindi word for 'hello'), 'Nai, a quant va la uva?' (Català de Lleida, the funniest I've heard lately . Too hard to explain here though, so contact me in case you require further information about the topic.)
- Benidorm is VERY UGLY.
- Punctuation signs vary a lot in every language. While we tend to use '...' , ';', and lots of '( )', I realised that Scandinavians use '-' instead.
- It's always better to regret something you've done than something you didn't do. And what's even better: most of the times you won't even regret anything, as the fact that things turned out different as expected doesn't necessarily make them bad at all.
- What 'grocs' are, how to identify them, and who are mine.
- 99,99999% of young Croatians speak super cool English.
As you might have imagined, concepts are randomly organized; stayed just like they came to my mind. I wish I was able to keep learning like this forever, but I somehow feel this is gonna be one of the longest lists ever... :)
empezamos bien.. muy bien ;)
